A healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition has always been a priority for me. Growing up on the South side of Chicago I came to the realization that you needed to know how to take care of yourself.
The way I found to protect myself was to be as physically fit as possible. As a child I saw the comic strip book that said “Tired of getting sand kicked in your face” and I ordered it. I knew I wanted to look like the guy in the book.
Then I realized that being in shape helped me with the other aspects in my life, in particular with the sports I played in school. I was always involved in organized sports such as football, baseball, basketball, boxing and wrestling.
I asked my parents for a bench and weights when I was about thirteen years old. I was told that before I could get my weights I needed to study and educate myself on the sport of lifting weights so I wouldn't hurt myself. Before I knew it my backyard had transformed itself into the “Venice Beach” of my neighborhood.
As I grew older I realized there is no pill that can be taken to keep young. I look at health and nutrition as the fountain of youth.
Many illnesses can be prevented and eliminated simply by exercising and maintaining a proper diet. Being healthy is a lifestyle.
I have over twenty years of experience in training. I kept a full time regular job and trained clients part time until the demand was so great that I finally gave up the conventional job and began personal training full time.
I develop a program for each individual based on their personal goals. The whole person needs to be taken into consideration. Even though the outside of the person is the end result, I like to begin the transformation from the inside out, beginning with nutrition and cardio/respiratory.
